We know you can't wait to get started, and after welcoming you to Zimbabwe and a few brief formalities, it's time to get out there and explore. Zimbabwe has some amazing wildlife, and we know you're about to have the trip of a lifetime.

You're going to love exploring Hwange National Park, which is in western Zimbabwe, close to the border with Botswana. There's so much wildlife action for you to look forward to around the waterholes, including incredible numbers of elephant. Zimbabwe's largest national park is home to the Big Five, along with giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, greater kudu and various other antelopes, and there's the possibility of seeing lions hunting elephants. Another reason why Hwange is so important is that it forms part of the five-country Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area.

Activities Day 1

Arrival & Transfer to Hwange (Robins Camp) + Afternoon Game Drive

Upon arrival at Victoria Falls or Hwange Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to Robins Camp, located in the remote northern part of Hwange National Park. This scenic section of the park is known for its open plains, waterholes, and high-density wildlife.

After settling in and enjoying lunch or refreshments, you will embark on your first afternoon game drive, exploring the area’s unique habitats. Look out for elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffes, and an array of plains game as the day cools and wildlife becomes more active.

Return to camp for dinner and a relaxed evening around the fire.

At Robins Camp, in Hwange National Park, you can look forward to fine facilities (which include the cozy little Hyena Bar, fine restaurant and swimming pool), and a range of accommodation (from camping to supremely comfortable rooms). The location is also excellent, with lots of safari trails fanning out into the park from the camp perimeter.

Day 2

Hwange National Park

Your first full day on safari begins with a gentle wake-up call just before sunrise, followed by tea or coffee and homemade biscuits around the campfire. Then it’s off on a morning game drive with an experienced guide who helps you track elephants, lion prides, elusive cheetahs, and even African wild dogs. You’ll return to camp in time for a hearty brunch and have the afternoon to relax, perhaps with a book by the pool or a short siesta in your luxury tent. For those seeking more adventure, a guided bush walk is also available, offering a closer look at the ecosystem, from animal tracks to medicinal plants. Later in the afternoon, high tea is served before you set out on your evening game drive. The golden light of sunset bathes the landscape as you enjoy sundowners in the bush. Return to camp for another delicious dinner and a night spent in comfort, surrounded by the calls of the wild.

You'll be heading down more safari trails in search of animals in Hwange National Park when we take you on a guided game drive. This is the best thing about many safaris, and you'll hopefully see many animals.

Day 3

Hwange National Park

On your final day in Hwange, you have the option to embark on a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch or stay closer to camp with the classic morning and evening safaris. Today, you might explore different regions of the park, perhaps visiting the Ngweshla or Kennedy Pans—famous hotspots for predators and large herds. Along the way, your guide shares insights into the behaviour of Hwange’s wildlife, the complexities of conservation in this vast area, and the camp’s role in sustainable tourism. Returning to Somalisa in the afternoon, you can take a last soak in your copper bathtub, toast to the trip with a G&T, and enjoy a final evening of fine dining and storytelling around the fire.

You'll be joining us in Hwange National Park for a guided game drive. It's a fantastic opportunity to see some of the animals you came so far to see.

Day 4

Victoria Falls

After breakfast, you say farewell to the team at Somalisa and board your charter flight back to Victoria Falls. Upon landing, a short road transfer takes you to your elegant hotel—either the tranquil riverside Palm River Hotel or the centrally located Ilala Lodge. After check-in and a chance to freshen up, you’re whisked away on a guided walking tour of the mighty Victoria Falls. Known locally as "Mosi-oa-Tunya" or "The Smoke That Thunders," the falls are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most breathtaking sights on the continent. Afterwards, take to the skies for the renowned "Flight of Angels" helicopter tour, where the grandeur of the Falls and the winding Zambezi River are revealed in full panoramic glory. As the sun begins to set, you embark on a peaceful Zambezi River cruise, complete with drinks and snacks, while hippos grunt in the shallows and elephants come down to drink at the water’s edge. After this activity-filled day, you return to your hotel for dinner and a restful night.

Transfer by Road, Robins Camp to Elephant Hills Resort

This morning is when you'll enjoy one of the great natural experiences of a lifetime as you visit Victoria Falls. The views from along the gorge-top walk are amazing.
This morning you're going on a scenic helicopter flight above Victoria Falls. You can expect jaw-dropping views of the falls and beyond.

You'll be staying at the only golf resort in Victoria Falls at Elephant Hills Resort. Apart from a golf course, it has everything you would expect from a resort, including a large swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and big views out over the surrounding countryside. The modern rooms have balconies and lots of natural light.

Day 5

Victoria Falls

The day begins with a visit to a nearby village, where you’ll have the chance to engage with local communities and learn about Zimbabwean culture, traditions, and day-to-day life. This authentic cultural experience offers a meaningful contrast to the more touristic attractions of Victoria Falls. Returning to your hotel by late morning, the afternoon is left entirely open for relaxation or optional activities. You may choose to unwind by the pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or dive into more adrenaline—perhaps zip-lining across the Batoka Gorge or trying the infamous gorge swing. Curio shopping at the open-air market or a visit to the Victoria Falls Art Gallery also make for delightful excursions. As your trip nears its end, enjoy dinner at a local favourite such as The Three Monkeys or the unique Dusty Road dining experience, celebrating local flavours with a twist.
